Celebrating 20 Years of Craftsmanship
Founded in 2005, LEGEND was born from a vision to preserve and promote sacred art and traditional sculptural craftsmanship. After retiring from a government position in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, Debtosh Bose established LEGEND as a family-run enterprise along with Rita Bose (wife) and Jaya Kar (daughter).
The journey began with the acquisition of a retail space at City Centre Mall, Salt Lake (D-107, First Floor), Kolkata. From its early days, LEGEND focused on creating sacred statues and artistic artifacts rooted in India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, while simultaneously aspiring to reach a global audience.
Through meaningful collaborations with two American families, LEGEND successfully entered the international market, exporting curated collections to the United States. These early partnerships laid the foundation for a strong India–USA artistic exchange, driven by a commitment to quality, authenticity, and craftsmanship.
Alongside domestic operations, an export extension was developed through our own branch unit. Initially, LEGEND introduced a select range of Hindu and Buddhist murtis, beginning with hand-painted clay idols of Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman. Over time, the collection expanded to include a wide range of sculptures representing multiple civilizations and spiritual traditions.

Inspired by pioneers of sacred art who later embraced cross-cultural spiritual imagery—including Western mythological forms such as Lilith and Willendorf—LEGEND broadened its creative horizon, integrating global spiritual and mythological themes while maintaining artistic integrity.

Who We Are
LEGEND is a dedicated producer of ancient and sacred deity images, including Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and a wide range of Western deities and mythological figures such as Norse, Roman, Greek, Egyptian, Wiccan, Pagan, and other spiritual traditions.
Our work reflects museum-style craftsmanship, historical and architectural influences—Gothic, Victorian, Neo-Victorian, and folk art traditions—with a special emphasis on the rich sculptural heritage of West Bengal.
Our diverse collections have been well received by international buyers in the USA, Canada, France, and other global markets. We currently sell online and welcome mail orders from both domestic and international customers.

Where We Work
Our creative studio is dedicated to concept development and research (R&D), where original designs and innovative sculptural ideas are conceived. Production is carried out at our workshops located in Kolkata and North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, supported by professional customer service and secure packing facilities.
